Texan Won't Face Charges After Shooting 'Aggressive Peacock'

A suburban Houston man will not face charges after he shot and killed when officials call an ‘aggressive peacock,’ 1200 WOAI news reports.

Deputies were called to a home in Cypress, northwest of Houston, after getting a report that a peacock had ‘fanned its colorful feathers’ and using its talons to attack the legs of a woman.

The deputy attempted to stop the peacock with a Taser, but the bird was ‘seemingly unfazed’ by two Taser shocks.

The owner of the peacock said the bird has previously attacked another woman.

In the presence of the deputy, the owner shot and killed the peacock with a shotgun.
