SA Federal Judge Sentences SA Child Porn Producer to 898 Years in Prison!

U.S. District Judge Fred Biery today handed down what is believed to be the longest prison sentence ever pronounced in Bexar County.

Biery sentenced Gemase Simmons, 30, who set up a phony reality TV show to convince fame-hungry underage girls to have sex with him, to 898 years in federal prison, 1200 WOAI's Michael Board reports from the federal courthouse.

Biery also sentenced Simmons to serve his time in the 'Supermax' federal prison in Colorado, where his yard mates will include '20th 9-11 hijacker' Zacharias Moussoui, and the Unabomber.

Simons was convicted of 39 counts of extortion, bank fraud, money laundering and production and distribution of child pornography.

Testimony indicated that Simmons enticed young girls by, along with a female accomplice, claiming to be a producer of a reality modeling television show.  Testimony indicated that Simmons convinced more than 100 girls and young women to engage in various types of sexual activity with him.

  In his sentence, Biery wrote:

"A bright light shone on the culturally corrupting influence of the mesmerizing allure of money, modeling, and media fame, which materialistic victims and their parents thought defendant would provide.  Homo Sapien greed and American materialism never cease to amaze and disturb this court.  If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
