Rains to Continue, So Far, No SA Streets Closed Due to Flooding

There are no streets closed by flooding in metro San Antonio this morning as the steady rain has provided good moisture to grass and plants, without the drenching rains which frequently lead to flooding and misery in this area, 1200 WOAI news reports.

A flash flood WATCH remains in place for much of the metro San Antonio area for Monday, and it may be extended as the forecast is for continued rainy weather throughout the week.  Moist air continues to bombard the area from the southwest and the southeast.

The chances of rain are 60% today, 50% tomorrow, and 80% on Wednesday, according to the Weather Channel.  About .6 of an inch of rain was reported at the Airport on Sunday.

But the further north you get, the situation changes.  The Austin area received a foot of rain on Sunday, with some parts of Travis County getting more rain.  The rain forced the final day of the Austin City Limits music festival to be cancelled, and numerous streets are closed in Travis and Bastrop Counties.
