Methodist Stone Oak Hospital on the far north side was locked down for more than ninety minutes Tuesday night due to what one officer described as 'gun talk' overheard by a patient, 1200 WOAI news reports.
Police locked down the hospital and conducted a room to room search. Roads around the hospital were also closed.
At one point, police investigated what turned out to be false reports sent by people inside the hospital of a person with a gun possibly threatening a baby, and even a report that shots had been fired.
None of that turned out to be true. Police say they are questioning a 'person of interest,' but police quickly determined that there was no threat to the hospital, and allowed the facility to resume normal operations.
There were no injuries.
There have been shootings at hospitals around the country in recent months, including one in northeast Texas which resulted in deaths.
