The latest former Lackland Military Training Instructor to be caught up in the sex with recruits today was sentenced to prison, but was not removed from the Air Force, 1200 WOAI news reports.
Tech Sgt. Brian Hickingbottom pled guilty to having unprofessional relationships with three technical training students and obstructing justice with one of the former students.
He was found not guilty of obstructing justice with another former student.
Hickingbottom was sentenced to four months in jail, reduced in rank to Senior Airman, and order to serve 45 days hard labor without confinement.
But Hickingbottom was not given a bad conduct or dishonorable discharge. There is a bill in Congress to mandate a dishonorable discharge for any active duty member of the military who is convicted of a sex related crime.
Hickingbottom is the 24th former MTI to face court martial.
