What a difference a month makes.
Just over a month after massive flooding covered much of the region in water, the Edwards Aquifer Authority has re-imposed Stage Two water rationing across the San Antonio metro area.
The ruling does not directly affect residential water users, but it will require commercial and industrial pumpers, and people who have backyard water wells, to cut their water usage immediately.
The Edwards lifted the restrictions of Stage One after the floods hit the area on May 25, but the Edwards has not completely lifted all pumping restrictions in the last 14 months.
The San Antonio Water System remains in Stage Two restrictions, and continues to be cautiously optimistic that it can avoid Stage Three, which has never been imposed.
