The construction phase on the Children’s
The demolition of the downtown campus started nearly a year ago with the goal of bringing world-class care to the city, president and CEO of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, Patrick Carrier said.
“The ability to treat a greater array of children’s health problems here in the community is something we wanted to give to the city,” Carrier said. “Having fewer children having to leave the community for care and provide care to all of South Central Texas will be monumental to the communities in the area.”
During the construction we are working on hiring new faculty members to help bring quality care to the city,Carrier said.
“We recently hired 45 new faculty members with hopes of growing that to 100 by December, “Carrier said. “And by January 2015 we plan on filling all 200 positions.”
The $400 million project will take 22 months to complete the 800,000 square foot facility, in the mean time the hospital says they plan on remaining open during the transformation
