Billy Idol has two projects in the works - an album and an autobiography. The rocker tells Billboard.com he's currently three-quarters of the way through his book, and is currently in the editing process. He says the memoir is "almost a massive joke," because he doesn't "remember anything!" But Billy explains that he's tried to give an overview of his career with the bits he does remember, and he shares his love of music, his personal way through life, and some thoughts on what he's done - both right and wrong - over the years.
Idol adds that it includes some dirt. While he admit it's not a tell-all, he "didn't try to think about was it sensational, was it this or was it that" as he put his stories down in writing. The singer explains that he just tried to give honest recollections about how he felt about his experiences.
Meanwhile, Idol says he's been gradually putting new songs together for his album, and will concentrate on that project this fall. The new disc will be his first release in several years. His last album was the Christmas disc Happy Holidays, while his last collection of new material was 2005's Devil's Playground.
Idol expects to have his book and his album in stores next year.
